It’s undeniable that a big part of Europe and America has vast ski areas in the world. However, there are many places from the different regions of the globe where some remote ski spots are home to excellent slopes and jaw-dropping panoramas.

A must-visit ski resort is found in Israel, and it is the only ski resort in the country. Hermon Ski Resort wedged into the northernmost corner of the Golan Heights along the Syrian border at an elevation of 6,600 feet.

In the autumn, spring, and summer, the resort caters to different outdoor activities that take advantage of the amazing landscape, including a mountain bike park and hiking.

Hermon ski area covers about 2434 dunams at an altitude of 1600-2040 meters above sea level. The resort operates year-round and opens for up to 50 days of skiing and snowboarding during winter. About 300 000 visitors, skiers and snowboarders, and all levels can enjoy, especially from January to March.

 

Primarily, the mountain slopes are used for skiing and snowboarding during the winter season. It has a wide variety of trails for beginners and advanced skiers. However, those who are not into winter activities can still have fun with various recreational activities like snow games, snow sledding, alpine coaster, and a ride by chair lift to the top of Mount Hermon.

The resort consists of 14 ski runs and 5 chair lifts. There are various lessons and training offered and equipment rental at the center. It is always best to check on the resort’s current weather before booking a flight to Israel.

About 40 000 people visit the resort during warmer months and spring as they take advantage of the topography and landscape, with the resort’s terrain for many outdoor pursuits.

Visitors can take the cable car to visit the HaMa’apil summit, where there are guided summer tours witnessing flora and fauna in the region. There are large hiking and biking trails in the area, as mountain biking is particularly famous at Mount Hermon. It has outstanding facilities in place at Bike Park that has three bicycle trails. Bikers use the ski chairlifts to take them to the top of the trail. An all-day lift ticket costs NIS 135.
