It is on U.S. Route 302 in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Bretton Woods, across from the Mount Washington Hotel. The resort features 464 acres of skiable terrain adjacent to the White Mountain National Forest. 92% of the trails have snowmaking as the resort receives an average of over 200 inches (5,100 mm) annually. The resort includes 10 lifts consisting of four high-speed quads run at a capacity of 14,000 people per hour, food outlets at the main lodge, and, up on the slopes, a restaurant at the top of the Bethlehem Express lift.

The resort is near three major airports: Manchester Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in Manchester, NH; Portland International Jetport (PWM) in Portland, ME, and Logan International Airport (BOS) in Boston, MA. Most guests arrive by car.

SEASON/WEATHER/BEST TIME TO VISIT BRETTON WOODS RESORT

Wanted to visit the resort in its dry weather? Travel in September, January, and then August are the months with the lowest chance of significant precipitation in Bretton Woods. (Note: “significant precipitation” is defined as 0.1 inches or more.) January has the lowest chance of rain or snow. However, it’s most likely to rain or snow in early to mid-December, averaging 4 days of significant precipitation the week of December 10th.

Snow season

According to weather stations report, March, specifically in the early weeks of the month, has huge amounts of snow in the resort. The best time to ski (if at all) in Bretton Woods is often around February second week when fresh powder is deepest.

ACTIVITIES

For decades, Bretton Woods has been part of many families’ winter holiday, as they always enjoy the slopes. There are all sorts of winter and summer activities that the resort offers. There is an alpine or Nordic Ski School, canopy tour, fly fishing, scenic gondola rides, golf, tennis, mountain biking, rock climbing, and guided hikes.

Guests of all ages can enjoy sleigh rides, skating, snowmobiling, tubing, and more. Visitors looking for relaxation after the whole day fun-filled rides can spend an afternoon in one of the full-service spas in the resort. For the ultimate winter thrill, you can try a Guided Adventure Canopy Tour- a high-flying experience in the trees and above the slopes.

Be aware that several activities require reservations, and lift tickets are available for advanced purchase to save time at the window before a day on the slopes.
