Canyoning, also referred to as canyoneering, is the act of traversing a fast-flowing mountain stream in a gorge using various techniques such as abseiling, sliding, climbing, and jumping.
The canyon is a natural gorge carved out of the side of a mountain by a flowing stream. They are typically quite steep, with climactic cliff drops on every side and several waterfalls to be encountered along the way.
Some waterfalls create natural toboggans, or natural slides down which people can go with little effort – and this is a lot of fun! Others may require jumping or abseiling.
